Crosswinds is please to announce that Tina Cane, Poet Laureate of Rhode Island, will serve as our judge for this year's contest.

Any identifying information on the poem itself will disqualify the poem from consideration. IMPORTANT: Please include a brief, one paragraph bio with your poem submissions. All entries are considered for publication. All entries are considered anonymously. Previously published works and works forthcoming elsewhere cannot be considered. Simultaneous submissions are OK, but the entry fee is non-refundable if the submitted work is accepted elsewhere. Poets may submit up to TWO groups of three poems as long as a separate reading fee is included with each submitted group. Crosswinds Poetry Journal cannot consider contest submissions from anyone currently or recently affiliated with Crosswinds or the current judge elected to choose the winner.

Please keep in mind our 65 character per line maximum (includes spaces and punctuation) and 34 line per page limit. We generally prefer poems that will fit onto a single page, with 60 lines being our absolute limit for longer work. Please submit in 12 point font.

Crosswinds Poetry Journal seeks English language poetry, without restrictions as to form or content. Please send us up to THREE (3) unpublished poems in a single submitted group. No postal submissions. Please send poems as WORD DOCUMENTS. Reading fee is $5, which covers up to three poems. Poets may submit up to a maximum ofTWO groups of three poems, with separate $5 reading fees for each.

Poems should be in 12 point font and keep in mind our 65 characters per line limit, (including spaces and punctuation). We prefer poems that will fit on one page (34 lines including stanza breaks).  Reports in 3-4  months, sometimes sooner. Sometimes comments on rejections.
